The New Duncan Dance Project presents Dancing Nature: the Art and Feminism of Isadora Duncan, an outdoor dance concert featuring historic dances by modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan, as well as new work choreographed by the company. The historic Ames Mansion and grounds are the perfect setting for Duncan’s dances, created over a hundred years ago and inspired by nature. The company will also present readings about Duncan’s artistic work and feminism, drawing parallels to her contemporary, Blanche Ames, two artists fighting for the autonomy of women. This performance is free and open to the public. An outdoor reception will follow.
Presented with financial support from the Easton Cultural Council and the Mass Cultural Council
